Material Xperience goes to China! The materials event for creative professionals will have its first Chinese edition at the Green Building China (GBC) Expo Shanghai, from 27 to 29 March 2012.

The theme of the first Material Xperience in China will be ‘Green Materials’. The exhibition is centred around the exciting opportunities that sustainability offers to designers and architects.

Nowadays sustainability is regarded as an important issue. Decisions have to be made on energy, pollution, waste processing, et cetera, if we want our children and grand children to live on a healthier planet. But to make the right choices, we need information. Materia has translated the Cradle to Cradle-definition into what a sustainable material should be.

At the Material Xperience in Shanghai, one can expect to see innovative and inspiring materials, such as concrete made of elephant grass, nanogel, bio-resins, plastics from recycled chewing-gum, flexible film solar cells, super-insulating glass, concrete made by bacteria, to name only a few examples. Participating partners will also have the opportunity to show their newest products and materials to their target group of creative professionals.

Material Xperience is integrated in GBC 2012, China’s leading expo and conference for green building. GBC 2012 is itself part of China Building Construction, a major trade fair for building and construction in Asia, founded in 1993. Materia and VNU Exhibitions Asia have joined forces to organize the Material Xperience during the GBC 2012.
