Enka Fushion is a flexible matting, produced from polyamide monofilaments, welded together where they cross to form a tough, open structure. The Enka Spacer 8004H is a three dimensional variety in a zig-zag configuration.
Both materials are mainly used as a flow medium for polyester or epoxy resins in reinforced plastics, made by vacuum infusion or resin transfer moulding processes, amongst other in automotive & boatbuilding industry, windmill applications and sport equipment applications.
Usually, the Enka Fushion matting is installed in between the vacuum bagging and peel ply, but it may also be placed within the composite. The Enka Spacer 8004H material is also used to facilitate the injection of polyurethane foam in sandwich constructions or composites.
Both materials are available in mats or roll form.
