For this Marmoleum collection solely oxide pigments are used. With colourants based on plant extracts artist Claudy Jongstra has developed four subtle colours for the new linoleum. The oxide pigments used create an appearance that makes the character of this collection is different from the familiar Marmoleum. Marmoleum oxyd is more powdery, blurred. Internationally celebrated artist Claudy Jongstra works with natural materials. She uses wool, silk and other natural fibres, making the final product very tactile and endowing it with a certain sensuality. Her work features very unusual colour properties owing to her use of plant-based colourants. This fits in well with linoleum, that is made from natural and renewable raw materials: linseed oil, rosin, jute, wood flour, limestone and pigment, making it a cradle-to-cradle (C2C) product.
