Outdoor leather! Xtreme Outdoor is an extremely hard-wearing leather with numerous applications for indoor but also outdoor usage. It is virtually impervious to wind, weather and most of the abuse found in everyday use. It can withstand attacks from all the usual suspects such as dirt, mould, alcohol and ultraviolet radiation. The world’s first heavy traffic road bridge made from Accoya wood! The Akkerwinde bridge designed by OAK Architects located in Sneek, The Netherlands. This grand entrance to the city of Sneek has a spanning of 105 feet and rises more than 50 feet in the air. The wood used in the bridge’s dramatic design not only makes it look impressive but performs also the important function of bearing the heavy traffic load. Read more

A wall that reacts as a plant? A sound-responsive wall consisting of cellular components that absorb sound and emit light and react by opening and closing its cells.The stimuli can be light, proximity of people, and touch. Inspired by the natural phenomenon of tropism in which a plant actively responds to external stimuli, designer Natasa Sljivancanin constructed an intelligent kinetic building system entitled Sonomorph.
