Thermochromic ink is used in many materials and is now also used in combination with leather.
The dynamic Kromatafor tanning process produces a colour-shifting leather. Triggered through temperature change, the intense surface hues of Kromatafor morph and crossfade when exposed to either direct or indirect temperature variation creating visual intrigue.
This is not a surface-only prismatic laminate or other “painted on” process. As with all of the most innovations, Kromatafor is tanned directly into the hide itself allowing leather designers a wide range of possible product applications.
