Panelite panels use a bonded sandwich construction typically exploited in the aerospace industry for its high strength to weight ratio and excellent resistance to deflection. Every honeycomb cell wall acts like the web of an I-beam between the flanges which are the facings, forming and extremely strong stiff, yet lightweight composites.
